Welcome to my website!
I’m a senior finishing up an honors dual-degree in economics and professional writing, with minors in French and pre-law, at the University of Oklahoma. When I was seven, I decided I was going to be a writer someday, and I’ve been crafting stories—using words, data and visuals—ever since.
I currently work as a research analyst at the Norman Economic Development Coalition on a NASA grant. My role involves strategizing ways to create jobs and retain young people in the state. During the spring intersession, I studied abroad in the U.K. and did comparative analysis between British and American media.
Last summer, I was a business reporter intern at The Oklahoman, which allowed me to combine my writing and statistical analysis skills. Flash Fiction Magazine also published one of my short stories.
My sophomore year, I honed my PR and marketing skills at the Sam Noble Museum, where I started a video series and created a magazine. During my time there, I increased our engaged users on social media by 135 percent.
I was also a senior news reporter at the OU Daily, covering the administration, construction, technology and the search for the new president of OU. My freshman year, I was an intern and junior news reporter, covering the academic colleges and research.
But experience aside, here’s more about me: I’ve lived in more states than I can count on a hand, but I call Houston, TX, home. I can’t get through the day without more coffee and almonds than I care to admit, good data makes my heart beat a little faster, and I am passionate about equality for all—be that through education, access to resources, or economic opportunities. When I’m not studying or writing, you can find me reading the news in my hammock or pretending to be an expert in all things French.
